Evelyn Carpenter
Microwave Cooking Specialist

Evelyn Carpenter is a Microwave Cooking Specialist, teaching consumers how to get the most out of their microwaves. With 13 years working in Whirlpool test kitchens, 10 years focused on microwaves, Evelyn looks forward to educating home cooks on how to integrate more microwave cooking into their meals and not just warming up leftovers.

Evelyn is an expert user of the microwave oven with some great time saving tips and insights on some of the best cleaning practices. What is Evelyn's number one tip? She says microwave users should attend to the cooking “don't walk away."  The food tends to cook better if it is stirred or rearranged throughout the heating process.

Evelyn's eco-friendly tip: Prevent soils from building up in the microwave, by cleaning the microwave once a week. Simply boil a cup of water in the microwave for two to three minutes, wiping out any residue. Additionally, Evelyn suggests using the dishwasher to keep the turntable spotless.
